‘Rapid Diagnosis and Repair’
 of your Car Breakdown.

Given a choice, most of us would probably be happier to use the car rather than other forms of transport, purely for the convenience and independence that it offers.

So, when you find yourself in a breakdown situation, the quicker your car breakdown can be diagnosed and repaired, the better.  And when it can be repaired at the roadside without incurring labour costs, better still!

So, how can diagnosis and repair be rapid? Well, this is where modern tools and equipment come into play.

Firstly, there’s the RAC’s touch screen mobile computers, launched in 2001.  These enabled Rescue patrols to gain instant access to over 50,000 pages of detailed technical data, allowing them to identify faults a lot quicker.

Secondly, RAC Rescue patrols have access to an extensive range of diagnostic electronic tools and equipment.

In many cases, the fault is actually diagnosed as the Rescue patrol is making it’s way to a car breakdown situation. And by combining the diagnostic and technical information held on the computer, patrols are much more likely to be able to quickly pin-point the source of the problem.

Of course, they still have the conventional electrical testing equipment such as Voltmeters, current clamps and key fob testers.

Nowadays, though, patrols also have mobile computers giving them the capability to read and reset the diagnostic information presented by modern vehicle engine management systems.

Having all the latest equipment available to them gives an edge over some other companies and contributes to the fact that RAC has a fantastic record in repairs at the roadside.  Although generally claimed to be 80%, the figure is actually closer to 83%.

So, for a quick solution to your car breakdown problem, use a company with cutting edge technology.  Allow the latest diagnostic equipment to work in your favour and help keep you on the move!
